Sectors: Industrial/Commercial to construct a new Equestrian Centre
Key services: Planning applications, full architectural services
Description: Our client had a dream to construct an Olympic sized equestrian centre on his property in County Durham. An original planning permission had lapsed and, after extensive research and discussions with the local planning authority, a revised location was identified and drawings produced to provide an Olympic sized indoor arena, outdoor arenas, indoor training school, associated stores and workshop together with competitor and visitor parking.
Extensive surveys were necessary which included; ecology, arboricultural, bats, environmental and mining surveys. Great Crested Newts were found in a pond which necessitated a redesign of the site layout to ensure their habitats were maintained. A planning application was submitted and approved in December 2013.
We have experience of new build, restorations, alterations and extension projects. These include work in conservation areas, and work to listed buildings. Building types include: individual dwellings, housing developments, specialist housing, barn conversions, mobility projects, educational buildings, medical buildings, commercial and industrial developments.
